PETER BLAKE GALLERY IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE ITS PARTICIPATION IN DESIGN MIAMI | BASEL SWITZERLAND
This series features cascading glass panels as their colours ebb and flow in saturation and fuse to create an impossibly delicate table, chair, and consol. The nexus of Ermičs’ exploration into light and space lies within these incredibly minimalistic designs, where the transformation of colour as it vacillates between opaque tones and a sheer veil of blue are truly appreciated in medium and its relationship with the surrounding environment.
This Curio booth will also critically see the next progression in Ermičs’ design, where for the first time he will merge his studio practice onto the walls – making the room in itself an enveloping sculpture. The booth walls will fold around the viewer and his works to foster an entirely all-encompassing experience which Ermičs calls ‘Spatial Intervention.’ The extension into the walls investigates space, colour, and shape, and builds off his first iteration of ‘Shaping Colour’ both in visual language and analysis into the relation between color and shape.
This year's Curio marks Peter Blake Gallery’s first exhibit of Contemporary Design as it expands the program beyond Historic Modern Design.
